Simple Weaving Loom DIY

So I have been a little obsessed with weaving lately. I've been dreaming of pretty wall hangings and making dresses out of hand woven knits. I tried to figure out the cheapest way to make a weaving loom  and for me, that was stealing some wood from the scrap bin at school and just giving it a try, and guess how much I spent! 3 dollars! I cant complain Heres how I did it:
*DISCLAIMER* I am no expert in wood crafting! Just wanted a way to try a new form of crafting without spending a fortune! I am happy with the results!
What you'll need: Brush or towel, Sandpaper, Wood, Nails, Paint
1. Start sanding! My goal was to get it smooth enough to not snag thread or give me splinters.
2. Paint!
3. Measure how far apart you want your nails. I chose 1/4 of an inch apart.
4. Mark the measurements!
5. Hammer! Clearly I am no expert in hammering nails to wood but it did the trick
6 Your done! wrap thread around the nails and start weaving.
I liked the way that I can change the length from project to project. taped the loom to my table to make it easier to use.
Have a good week everyone!

Circle Weaving

I decided to add a large, medium, and small medallion onto the knit dress. So far I have only finished the large and it is on my dress and ready to go! To make this I just used thick paper (could also use paper plates) cut into a circle and made slits around the edges. Then I crossed the strips of fabric in a star like formation and then just started weaving! So simple it seems but this one took me 4 hours!!! I have a feeling I am going to need to be a little more productive with the next two!
Cant wait to share when its all done!
Happy Saturday!

Knit Dress

Hey all! Hope your weekend was great! I am just dropping by to share some of the work I have been doing in school! We are working with knits for the very first time and it has been different in a good way!
I cut strips of my fabric and weaved them together to create the fabric that is on top. I would call this dress done but because of the assignment I have to add like 2 more yards of fabric! I am not entirely sure what I want to do but I will post photos when I figure it out! I have been so inspired lately and it is just the best feeling! I have like 3 dresses in the works and am working on a simple DIY to share soon!
Have a good week!

Obsessed-Deer head edition!

So I live in an apartment with three other girls, making personal decor an interesting mix of the four of us! However, lately I have been dreaming of a home with a fireplace and a big deer head (fake of course) hanging over it! I have been doing a ton of research and I came across some that are just too cute not to share! So here are some of my faves!
